Potcake Place- 'Potcake' is the name given to the dogs of the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. The name came about because the locals fed the caked remains of the cooking pot to the dogs. The spay/neuter programs are not keeping up and the feral dog population of the islands is growing. Potcake Place is a service that rescues and provides homes for the dogs from around the islands. Salvation Army Turks and Caicos - The Salvation Army is working in the Turks and Caicos to meet the needs of this beautiful Caribbean nation. Some of the work the volunteers are providing to the Turks and Caicos consist of hot lunches for school children, taking care of the elderly or house bound residents of middle and north caicos, thrift stores, and disaster relief for those in Haiti only to name a few.
